The LDTD technology (Laser Diode Thermal Desorption) coupled with mass spectrometry offers exceptional analytical performances to pharmaceutical, proteomics, forensic, military and environmental industries and performs equally well in other analytical fields. This innovative design allows a rapid laser thermal desorption of the sample followed by atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (LDTD-APCI).
Automation performance
This new source incorporates an ionization source and an auto-sampler to offer an unprecedented automation level and analytical speed. The 96-wells plate LazWellTM has standard dimensions compatible with automated sample preparation systems. Each LazWellTM has a unique barcode read by the source to assure samples traceability. The full analysis of 96 samples of a LazWellTM plate is completed in less than 12 minutes (7 seconds per sample). The loader may accommodate up to 10 LazWellTM plates allowing an autonomy of almost 1000 automatically analyzed samples.
The LazSoftTM graphical user interface is highly intuitive and can share data with most commercially available mass spectrometry software, while ensuring fully automated source control.
Economical performance
With its robustness, its speed of execution and its easy maintenance, the LDTD ionization source will increase the analytical capabilities and high throughput of any laboratory without the necessity to acquire a new mass spectrometer.
Analytical performance
The LDTD eliminates the risk of cross contamination normally associated with the use of chromatography techniques like HPLC (injector, column and tubing are common to all injected samples). One major breakthrough is the absence of background noise normally induced by a mobile phase or an enhancement matrix (like MALDI). Moreover, the simplicity of the sample preparation is another considerable analytical advantage. Only 2 to 10 µL of sample are needed to be deposited in each well followed by a quick solvent evaporation to be ready for sample analysis.
