The LDTD (Laser Diode Thermal Desorption) is an ion source for mass spectrometry. This ion source works without any LC apparatus reducing significantly the solvent consumption making it "green by nature". It is based on a shotgun approach and used the separation power of the mass spectrometer to obtain the same results as any LC-MS/MS analysis. However, the LDTD-MS/MS is 10 to 100 times faster than any LC-MS/MS analysis methods.
It is now the time to change your runtime from minutes into seconds !
The LDTD ion source works with less than 10 μl of sample (typically 2µL). The sample is deposited in a well of a 96-well plate called the LazWell and dried onto its surface. An infrared laser diode heats up the back of the well to produce a thermal desorption of the sample. During all the desorption process, there is no interaction between the infrared photons and the sample.
The LazWell plate is made of polypropylene with an inserted stainless steel alloy sheet for heat transmission.
The LazWell have been design to be fully compatible with existing automated liquid handler workstations for a fully automated high throughput solution. Produced in clean room and delivered in individual bag the LazWell is contaminant free.
